We provide UK same-day courier and haulage services for business customers.
Online calculator prices apply to general cargo only.
Hazardous (ADR), chilled, frozen, high‑value, or specialist goods must be quoted separately.
Collection and delivery times are estimates unless specifically agreed.
Goods must be ready, correctly packaged, and accessible at collection and delivery points.
If details change after booking, prices may change.
Our liability for loss or damage is strictly limited and governed by industry‑standard terms.
We do not automatically insure your goods; you should arrange your own cover.
By proceeding to checkout, you confirm acceptance of these Terms.
1. DEFINITIONS & INTERPRETATION
1.1 "Customer" means the person, firm, or company requesting or receiving the Services.
1.2 "Services" means same-day courier, haulage, and related transport or logistics services arranged or provided by ACS.
1.3 "Goods" means any items tendered for carriage.
1.4 "BIFA Conditions" means the BIFA Standard Trading Conditions (England, 2021).
1.5 Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
2. BASIS OF CONTRACT
2.1 These Terms apply to all Services unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
2.2 No variation shall be binding unless confirmed in writing by ACS.
2.3 The Customer warrants that it has authority to enter into this contract on behalf of any third party with an interest in the Goods.
3. SCOPE OF SERVICES
3.1 ACS provides time-critical, same-day courier and haulage services within the United Kingdom, using its own vehicles or subcontracted carriers.
3.2 Online calculator rates apply to general cargo only.
3.3 ADR (Hazardous), Chilled, Frozen, high-value, or specialist Goods areexcluded from calculator pricing and must be quoted separately.
4. CUSTOMER OBLIGATIONS
The Customer warrants that:
4.1 All descriptions, weights, dimensions, values, and addresses are accurate.
4.2 Goods are adequately packaged, labelled, and suitable for road transport.
4.3 Goods will be ready for immediate collection at the agreed time.
4.4 Collection and delivery locations are safe and accessible for the booked vehicle.
4.5 No prohibited Goods are tendered without prior written agreement.
5. PROHIBITED & RESTRICTED GOODS
Unless agreed in writing, ACS will not carry:
Dangerous or hazardous goods
Temperature-controlled or perishable goods
Cash, jewellery, precious metals or stones
Firearms, weapons, or illegal items
Animals or human remains
6. COLLECTION, DELIVERY & WAITING TIME
6.1 Collection and delivery times are estimates unless expressly agreed as guaranteed.
6.2 Waiting time beyond a reasonable loading or unloading period may be charged.
6.3 Failed collections or deliveries due to Customer fault may incur abort or wasted journey charges.
7. ROUTE CHANGES & ADDITIONAL STOPS
7.1 Any amendment to route, timing, or number of stops may result in a revised price.
7.2 Prices are not confirmed until the Customer selects Generate Quotes and completes checkout.
8. PRICING & PAYMENT
8.1 All prices are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.
8.2 Payment must be made in full prior to vehicle dispatch unless a credit account is agreed.
8.3 ACS reserves the right to apply surcharges for waiting time, tolls, congestion charges, out-of-hours work, or additional mileage.
9. CANCELLATIONS
9.1 Cancellations made after vehicle allocation may incur a cancellation charge.
9.2 Same-day cancellations are non-refundable once a vehicle has been dispatched.
9.3 Where the Services are time-specific or same-day, the Customer acknowledges that no statutory cooling-off period applies, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
10. LIABILITY & CLAIMS
10.1 ACS acts as agent or principal in accordance with the BIFA Conditions.
10.2 ACS shall have no liability whatsoever for:
indirect or consequential loss;
loss of profit, business, market, or contracts;
delay, unless expressly agreed in writing;
loss or damage arising from inaccurate information supplied by the Customer;
loss or damage to prohibited or undeclared Goods.
10.3 Where ACS is liable for loss or damage to Goods, such liability shall be strictly limited in accordance with the BIFA Conditions, including all applicable monetary limits.
10.4 No claim shall be accepted unless:
notice of loss or damage is given in writing within the time limits set out in the BIFA Conditions; and
the claim is substantiated in accordance with the BIFA Conditions.
10.5 The Customer agrees that the limitations of liability set out in these Terms are reasonable in light of the charges paid.
11. INSURANCE & HIGH-VALUE GOODS
11.1 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, ACS does not provide Goods-in-transit insurance.
11.2 The Customer is responsible for arranging adequate insurance cover for the Goods.
11.3 High-value Goods (with a value exceeding £10,000 per consignment, or such other amount as ACS may notify) must be declared in writing prior to booking.
11.4 ACS reserves the right to refuse carriage of undeclared high-value Goods, or to apply revised terms, charges, or insurance requirements.
12. SUBCONTRACTING
ACS reserves the right to subcontract all or part of the Services.
13. FORCE MAJEURE
ACS shall not be liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including traffic incidents, weather, industrial action, or mechanical failure.
14. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
15. INCORPORATED CONDITIONS
15.1 All Services are provided subject to the BIFA Standard Trading Conditions (England, 2021), except where expressly varied by these Terms.
15.2 A copy of the BIFA Standard Trading Conditions is available upon request or via the ACS website.
16. CONSUMER FALLBACK
Where the Customer is a consumer, statutory rights under UK consumer law are not affected. All other provisions apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
